We thought it was time for a woodland update! After the disappointing vandalism in October we were overwhelmed with such an encouraging response from those that donated to those that sent uplifting messages. Our facebook post was seen by over 18000 people and we raised over £1600 towards repairing and making the site more secure. We were also so grateful to Broadway Building Supplies for honouring a credit note that was donated to us, to Bennimans for dropping off lots of pallets that we are making into lockable log stores, to Wychavon Council for securing the barrier to the site and to Cotswold Security Group for very generously adding us to their monitoring checks without charge and helping us to source and install some security cameras.
We relocated our woodland kitchen to a different site within the woodland and we think the pizza over is repairable!
We’ve also been busy securing the entrance with some barbed wire and the Council very kindly created two mud barriers to stop large vehicles from being able to access the track to the woodland and batter our entrance gate.
All in all it’s been a busy few months and a great chance for the kids we work with to see community spirit in action! We are so grateful for everyone who has helped us turn this into something good!
